Types of Programs and Program Candidates

Gaspar Doctors of Physical Therapy has over 28 years of experience in treating patients with Cardiac and Pulmonary conditions. We offer individualized treatments that are tailored to each patient’s specific needs. After each patient’s thorough Initial Evaluation, our Doctors of Physical Therapy will put together a carefully thought out plan of care that best suits their path to recovery. As improvement progresses it may be necessary to make adjustments to their program by ramping up their exercise regimen. Each patient’s treatment is monitored by one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy who specializes in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. We excel in keeping open communication with our patients’ Primary Care Physicians and or Specialist by updating them with Progress Reports. Frequency of Progress Reports are generally two weeks, however they can be as frequent as requested. In addition to addressing their cardiopulmonary needs it is common that most of these patients have orthopedic issues as well, which inhibits and limits their ability to exercise. With this in mind, we tailor each patient’s exercises to fit their specific needs. Patient education and nutrition counseling are also incorporated into their program as needed. We have worked with many Cardiology and Pulmonary Specialists since we opened in 1994. In that time, we have gained respect and gratitude from numerous healthcare providers and patients.

We have evaluated thousands of patients over the years for Cardiac Rehab, Pulmonary Rehab, Heart Failure, Pulmonary Hypertension, and most recently post COVID Rehab. We use various performance measures in our patient’s treatment programs based on each patient’s deficits.
